用戶實際環境中的一臺思科4506交換機無法登錄，由於維護人員也不記得修改後的密碼，只能對系統進行破解。
環境：
Cisco Catalyst 4506E交換機，引擎爲WS-X45-SUP8-E，系統版本是cat4500es8-UNIVERSAL-M
破解步驟：
重啓交換機，按ctrl+c中止交換機的啓動過程，如下所示：

使用confreg命令對系統進行配置，如下所示：

其它選項可以直接回車，配置完之後提示必須重啓才能生效，不過重啓前可以用set命令再次查看一下環境變量，如下所示：

此時會發現前後寄存器的值已經發生了變化，可以通過boot命令重啓系統
重啓後：

此時可以看到系統繞過了配置文件，後面我們可以通過
switch#copy startup-config running-config
將配置加載到系統中，然後通過命令直接修改密碼即可，當然在完成後我們必須修改寄存器值
config-register 0x2101
重新啓動系統，會發現密碼已經破解完成。

其實sup8引擎的密碼破解與其它系列引擎的密碼破解方法相似，可以參照官方的文檔進行查看，但是如果是兩臺系統做的VSS，那麼密碼破解過程就會有些不同，不過官方也給出了相應的文檔，具體請查閱。
