To edit the Default Access Permissions using Dcomcnfg.exe
On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run.
In the Open box, type the following text:
dcomcnfg.exe
Click OK.
Do one of the following:
In Windows 2003/XP, expand Component Services, and then expand Computers. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. On the Default COM Security tab, under Access Permissions, Edit Default.
In all other versions of Windows, on the Default Security tab, under Default Access Permissions, click Edit Default.
The Access Permission pane is normally blank. If the window is not blank, make sure that the Administrators, Interactive, and System accounts are set to Allow Access.

Double-click Add Scheduled Task, and then click Next.
In the directory in which Symantec AntiVirus is installed, browse to the "Vpdn_lu.exe" file.
The default locations are as follows:
On Symantec AntiVirus clients, the path is C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus\Vpdn_lu.exe.
On Symantec AntiVirus servers, the path is C:\Program Files\SAV\Vpdn_lu.exe.
On Symantec Client Security 3.x servers, the path is C:\Program Files\SAV\Symantec AntiVirus\Vpdn_lu.exe.
Click Daily, and then click Next.
Select the time and day that you want to start the scheduled task, and then click Next.
The current user name will already be entered.
Change the current user name to an Administrator account, type the password (if necessary), and click Next.
This does not apply to Windows Me/98.
Click Open the advanced properties for this task when I click finish, and then click Finish.
In the Run box, type a space and then /s outside of the last quotation mark (/s means silent).
The line now reads:
"C:\<Path from step 3> \vpdn_lu.exe" /s
Click OK.
You will be prompted to type the password again and confirm it.
To test, right-click the Vpdn_lu icon in the Scheduled Tasks window, and then click Run.
You should see confirmation in the "status" column.
