1386271 - No SAP or SAP BW systems available when creating a new connection in Crystal Reports.



Symptom

  • Cannot query SAP R/3 cluster tables.
  • No SAP systems are available.
  • No list of SAP BW System.
  • In Crystal Reports, when attempting to create a new connection to SAP ECC, ERP, or SAP BW, there is no available systems to connect to.

Environment

  • Crystal Reports 2008
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2011
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013

Reproducing the Issue

  1. In Crystal Reports, create a new data source connection.
  2. Choose SAP Tables, Clusters or Functions, or SAP BW MDX driver.
  3. Notice there is no list of SAP systems or SAP BW systems.

Cause

  • The SAP Systems information are stored in the file 'saplogon.ini'.
  • This file is installed and configured by the SAP GUI application, not by Crystal Reports.
  • Crystal Reports cannot locate the 'saplogon.ini', or the file is not present locally on the client machine.

Resolution

  1. Locate the file 'saplogon.ini', on your local computer, and or network drives.
  2. Copy and paste the file into the folder C:\Windows (default directory)
  3. Close and re-open Crystal Reports.
  4. Now, it will display the list of available SAP systems or SAP BW systems.
