Prince Zigfried
齊格弗裏德王子
Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a Prince.
從前，在一個遙遠的國度，住着一位王子。
His name was Zigfried, and he was very unhappy.
他的名字叫齊格弗裏德，他非常不快樂。
His father, the King, had died, and since then, everyone in the palace had forgotten how to smile.
他的父親，也就是國王，去世了。從那以後，宮殿裏的每個人都忘記了如何微笑。
Without his father, Zigfried thought he would never feel happy again.
沒有了父親，齊格弗裏德覺得自己再也不會感到快樂了。
Every day, Zigfried sat at the window in his room in the palace, looking at the birds in the trees.
每天，齊格弗裏德都坐在宮殿裏他房間的窗戶旁，看着樹上的鳥兒。
"How can they sing and fly so free? They must not feel like me."
“它們怎麼能如此自由地歌唱和飛翔呢？它們一定不像我。”
His servant, Ozlowe, tried to make the prince smile by telling him jokes or doing funny tricks for him.
他的僕人厄茲洛試圖通過給他講笑話或做有趣的惡作劇來讓他笑。
But the Prince would not smile.
但王子不肯笑。
"I know you love me Ozlowe, but I cannot smile. My heart is broken."

Ozlowe would not give up.
厄茲洛不會放棄。
"Let's go for a walk, good Prince. Maybe we can find something outside which will make you happy."

"If you wish Ozlowe, but I don't think there's anything that can make me happy."
“如果你希望的話，厄茲洛，但我認爲沒有什麼事能讓我快樂。”
Ozlowe put on his hunting cap, and he took his crossbow.
厄茲洛戴上狩獵帽，拿起他的弩。
He enjoyed hunting and he hoped to catch a bird or a rabbit for the Prince.
他喜歡打獵，他希望爲王子抓一隻鳥或一隻兔子。
They walked through the forest until they came to a lake.
他們穿過森林，來到一個湖邊。
On the lake there was a beautiful white swan.
湖上有一隻美麗的白天鵝。
It had a gold crown on its head, that only Princesses wear.
它頭上戴着一頂只有公主才戴的金王冠。
The swan swam towards the prince and looked into his eyes.
天鵝遊向王子，看着他的眼睛。
The swan's eyes were so sad that Prince Zigfried felt sorry for it.
天鵝的雙眼是如此悲傷，以至於齊格弗裏德王子爲此感到難過。
"Here is a creature which feels worse than I do. But why do you have that crown on your head?"
“這是一個感覺比我更糟的傢伙。但你爲什麼頭上戴着王冠呢？”
The swan opened its wings and cried out.
天鵝張開翅膀叫喚起來。
"I think it's trying to tell me something."
“我想它是想告訴我一些事情。”
Ozlowe had his crossbow in his hands.
厄茲洛手裏拿着他的駑。
He wanted to shoot the swan.
他想射殺天鵝。
"I'll get that swan for you. Prince. Just one minute."
“我會幫你得到天鵝的。王子，就一分鐘。”
"Ozlowe, no!"
“厄茲洛，不要！”
Before Ozlowe could shoot, a magic owl flew from a tree and took Ozlowe's cap off his head.
厄茲洛還沒來得及射擊，一隻會魔法貓頭鷹就從樹上飛下來，從他頭上摘下了他的帽子。
This cast a spell on him, and he was turned to stone.
這對他下了一個魔咒，他變成了石頭。
