do anything/nothing/everything but (except) 句型是很常見的不定式句型。
用法，如果前面的謂語動詞是do nothing類型的，but後面就跟不帶to 的 動詞不定式。
如：Last night I did nothing but watch TV.
另外，如果前面的謂語動詞不是do nothing的類型的動詞， 則but後面的不定式就要加上to。
如 ：The doctor told him nothing but to stop smoking。
There was nothing for them to do but to remain silent.
The lost child desired nothing but to go home.
