Department Overview
The Office of the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) ensures Symantec's long-term success and customer loyalty through innovative next generation technologies, architecture and standards, while providing operational oversight of global R&D and shared engineering services.
Responsibilities
· The person for this position will perform writing and executing test plans and test cases for Internationalization projects on different Symantec products, configuration of test environments with different computer hardware and operation systems, verification of test results, documentation of tests results and reporting of status, troubleshooting issues.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have 2-4 years of applicable professional QA experience or as a specialist in applicable technologies, BS or MS in Computer Science. The ideal candidate would have skills including:
· Strong passion for and commitment to software quality
· A deep understanding of quality assurance processes and software development lifecycle
· Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
· Ability to analyze, isolate and document complex technical issues.
· Flexibility to move between tasks.
· Strong sense of work responsibility and proactive attitude
· Quick learning skill for new technology and products.
· Excellent English oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment is required.
· Good team work and communication skill are necessary qualities
Desired Skills:
· Knowledge and work experience in Internationalization or Localization is a good advantage.
· Experience working with network security is a plus
· Knowledge and work experience in one of following database application: Exchange, SQL database, Oracle, Cluster Server, LDAP server is a plus
· Perl, Java, C++ or other Programming language knowledge and experience
· Work Experience in EE software and Web testing is a plus
