概述
Nightwish（夜願）是一支來自芬蘭的劇院金屬（美聲金屬）樂隊，成立於1996年。樂隊大多數歌曲的詞由鍵盤手托馬斯·霍洛帕尼所撰寫，前任女主唱塔雅·圖侖尼的聲音讓夜願在全球範圍內都受到好評。塔雅畢業於芬蘭的西貝流士音樂學院，並且還在德國進修過古典演唱技巧。在2005年10月塔雅·圖倫尼被開除後，他們找到了Anette接任，並且也增加讓貝斯手馬可·希耶塔拉唱的比例。夜願的音樂風格被描述成劇院金屬和新金屬，並且還有其他元素存在。托馬斯曾經形容他們的音樂爲“用女聲表現的旋律金屬”。
成立於1996年的芬蘭交響力量金屬團Nightwish是芬蘭的一寶，北歐的淳厚的古典積澱和新金屬的濃烈氛圍，造就了Nightwish的天籟之音。

1996年七月的一個夜晚,當Tuomas與他的朋友們在樹林裏坐在篝火旁聚會的時候,Nightwish這個想法第一次出現在他們的腦海裏，他們當時就創作了三首歌曲並於當年12月錄製了出來.最初樂隊的成員只有三人Tuomas,Tarja和Emppu.後來大家覺的這些歌需要有鼓聲,因此Jukka也加入了進來.Emppu將原來的箱琴換成了電琴,Nightwish又創作了些新歌,他們在97年4月花了一星期的時間錄製了7首作品.97年樂隊與Spinefarm簽訂了兩張專輯的合約.這樣他們又創作了4首作品.其中Carpenter這首歌登上了芬蘭單曲榜的第8位.97年11月樂隊首張專輯Angels FallFirst正式發行,聽衆反映良好,但樂隊很快就停止了活動。Emppu和Jukka要服兵役而Tarja要完成學業.大家與公司協商後延長了合同並將專輯數量變爲三張.98年5月公司爲Nightwish發佈了Carpenter等歌的Video.而同年夏天,貝司手SamiVanska加入到樂隊中.8月Nightwish備齊人馬開始了新的工作.先錄製了單曲的video,到12月7日,樂隊至今最成功的專輯Oceanborn發佈了.它登上了專輯榜第五名,其中單曲sacrament ofwilderness成功的坐上了單曲榜的頭把交椅.Nightwish開始全國巡演,等到99年春天,Oceanborn在海外成功發行.樂隊在歐洲特別是德國極受歡迎,所有作品全部熱賣,他們開始參加大型音樂節並進行歐洲巡演了.
2000年Nightwish開始製作自己的第三張專輯,可樂隊在歐洲電視網芬蘭歌曲大賽中的參賽歌曲Sleep Walker牽扯了大家的精力不得不暫停工作,最終Sleep Walker得到了第二名,而公衆評判則是第一名.同年樂隊的最新大碟Wishmaster終於發佈.一經售賣立刻登上了芬蘭排行榜首位,並停留了三個星期.而且被德國Rock Hard評爲了2000年6月的最佳大碟(超過了Bon Jovi和iron Maiden的新專輯)併成爲金唱片.
《Angels Fall First》是樂隊的首張大碟，並取得了不俗的成績。很快這幾個芬蘭人又帶來了新作《Oceanborn》。tarja的女聲還是那麼特別，把古典元素細緻的融入金屬樂，與Therion不同的是，Tarja 的音質更富冒險。她更多的按單音節清晰發音，一個完整使用元音歌劇花腔女高音似乎更適合這種交響力量金屬。個人也更樂意聽到她這 種歌劇層次化的嗓音，特別是在類似"Swanheart"和"Walking in the air"這樣的歌曲中。
當然，如果你聽過本世紀2大歌劇女高音Maria Class和Kirsten flagstad會領略到更精深的唱腔，但在金屬一派，能與Tarja匹敵的還真不多。
專輯的詞多出自Tuomas，他同時還負責演奏合成器和低沉的男音嘶吼,Marco加入樂隊後改爲由Marco負責男聲演唱。Nightwish在他們的歌曲中涉及到了幻象和神話，爲細心的聽者編織出一個夢一般的仙境。
如前面所提，Nightwish玩的是交響力量金屬，這很容易讓人想到他們的另一支芬蘭金屬同伴--Stratovarius。特別是"Swanheart"中的長笛旋律段；類似"Stargazers"和"Gethsemane"中的器樂合奏；"Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean"中走出的跳躍、清馨的節奏；而"Moondance"更是一首俄羅斯民族旋律穿梭其間的器樂曲。美崙、一致的歌曲創作和清晰的唱片製作無疑是錦上添花。

I was raised in a musical family and I've been singing since childhood. My mom also forced me to play the oboe for 8 years! I toured constantly with my mom and her band in my childhood, sometimes I even sang on stage with them.
我出生於一個音樂家庭，從小就開始唱歌。我的媽媽強迫我學習了八年的雙簧管，我童年時不停地跟隨我母親和她的樂隊巡迴演出，有時候我甚至在他們地舞臺上唱歌
After I turned 13, I started competing in several talent shows. I joined my first real band when I was 17, it was a cover band and all the other musicians were older than me. After playing cover songs, I joined a band called Alyson Avenue, first just as a studio singer, later as their leading lady. We've released 2 albums since 2000.
13歲之後，我開始在幾個業餘歌手演唱會中比賽， 我17歲那年加入了我的第一個真正意義上的樂隊，那是一個翻唱組合，所有地成員都比我年長。在唱了幾首Cover歌（同前）之後，我加入了一個叫做Alyson Avenue地樂隊， 第一次作爲一個在工作室中演唱地歌手，之後從2000年開始，作爲樂隊的女主唱，我們發售了2張專輯
At the age of 21, I played the leading role in a rock opera/musical called "Gränsland" in Helsingborg. After that I got in to the Balettakademien in Gothenburg. In addition to the already mentioned, I've been in several other bands over the years, I've sung in choirs, done studio work for various projects and I've even occasionally been a wedding singer. Recently I sang a duet with Michael Bormann (ex-Jaded Heart-singer) on his album "Conspiracy". During my singing career I've sung nearly every kind of music that there is!
21歲那年，我在Helsingborg爲一個叫Gränsland的樂隊做主唱，之後我去了Gothenburg的Balettakademien，除此之外我在幾年內加入過很多其他樂隊，在唱詩班演唱，爲不同的計劃演唱，有時甚至偶爾作爲一個婚宴的演唱者。最近我和Michael Bormann的新專輯Conspiracy進行了一次二重唱，在我的演唱生涯中我唱過幾乎所有種類的音樂！
In my earlier days I took singing lessons at the Copenhagen Music Conservatorie, in Helsingör, Denmark with a private teacher. Nowadays, when its needed, I take lessons from a private teacher at the Malmö Music University.

I do my vocal warm-up and drink some green tea with honey. I always need to spend the last 10 minutes before a show on my own to focus properly, to prepare myself mentally and to relax.

I do not have the kind of tour memories that the guys have since I've only done concerts in Scandinavia, but I still remember the old days with my first cover band Take Cover, when we played at a motorcycle party somewhere in the south of Sweden. They had strippers, and the crowd was screaming "Show us your boobs" etc. to me.. After the gig, when we should've collected the payment, some MC-guys started to fight with the guys in our band and we had to drive away with a full-loaded car and its attached trailer as fast as we could.. I was scared... Brr...
They also destroyed one of our big speakers by pouring beer into it...
Grrr...
我和樂隊成員沒有什麼一起旅行的經歷（畢竟纔剛來嘛），唯一記得的一次是在斯堪的納維亞的音樂會。但我還記得以前和首個樂隊的旅行經歷，當我們在瑞典的一場摩托車派對上演出時，他們有演脫衣舞者（stripper在這裏應給翻成脫衣舞者吧？），並且觀衆開始對我尖叫：“給我們看你的（嗶——）”（果然。。） 演出之後我們還得不到報酬，一些工作人員開始和我們的成員幹架使得我們不得不開着一輛滿載的車以最快速度逃離現場。。我被嚇到了。。
他們還用啤酒毀掉了我們的一個揚聲器。。。。
（驚心動魄呢，有點像拍電影。。）

First I started to play drums in the age of 11 but couldn't really practise since I didn't had a place to rehearse in. So basically I just played some exercises by hitting couch or what ever proper target was available. My first band in the age of 11 or 12 was called "The Highway" and it really rocked... =) Then on the age of 15 or 16 I got in to my first band. We got a practising place where we could play couple of times a week. After quiting in this band we started playing together with Emppu and got a permanent rehearsal-place. This was a bless since from then on we were able to play every day if we felt so. And we did play a lot. First we played some Finnish rock but quite soon got into more heavier stuff like Stratovarius, Helloween and Yngwie Malmsteen. On the age of 17 (if I remember right) Tuomas and Emppu asked me to join a project called Nightwish and the rest is History.
我第一次開始練習架子鼓是在11歲,由於沒有排練的地方所以那時我並沒有怎麼真正的去練習.因此那時我基本上只是利用敲打牀椅或靶子之類的方法練習. 我的第一個樂隊在我11,2歲時候組的叫作"The Highway"（高速公路）,它很帶勁..=) 等到我15,6歲的時候我加入了那個樂團.我們擁有了練習的地方,每週可以練習幾次. 在離開這個樂隊之後我和Emppu ( nightwish的吉他手)一起演奏並且擁有了可以永久排練的地方. 感謝上帝，從那時起我們終於可以每天排練了. 並且我們的確練習了很久. 一開始我們練習一些芬蘭搖滾樂, 但很快不久之後我們開始迷茫就像Stratovarius, Helloween 和 Yngwie Malmsteen那樣. 在我17歲那年(如果我沒記錯的話)Tuomas(Nightwish鍵盤手) and Emppu (nightwish吉他手)邀請我加入一個名爲Nightwish的計劃, 剩下的就是歷史了

When I was younger and still taking influences the biggest influences came from Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater and Jörg Michael of Stratovarius. Nowadays I don't really observe other drummers playing but if drummer is a good player and is doing a good show it's fun to watch. Example Mikkey Dee and Tommy Lee.

We were almost forced to cancel the show in Portugal since promotor tried to fuck us. He didn't pay our fee and we were forced to stay in a hotel until he did pay it. The show was delayed but fortunately we got to play.
因爲贊助人玩弄我們使得我們幾乎被迫取在消葡萄牙的演出,他沒有付給我們酬金使得我們被迫在呆在旅館直到他付錢,那次演出被推遲了,但幸運的是我們還是演出了

I loose the click and we play in a different timing with the background-tape. And when I shout Tero to shut it up he doesn't hear me and we keep on playing totally wrong.
我的耳機掉了(演出時他們的耳機裏會有類似"滴答"的聲音來控制節奏)然後我們與背景音樂產生了時間差. 當我向Tero大喊讓他把它關掉的時候他聽不見我的聲音使得我們的演奏完全失敗
