這個文件包含自動完成的郵件地址列表。outlook的自動完成聯繫人郵件的列表，並不像outlook express那樣，是從聯繫人裏面直接拿出來的，而是存儲在一個cache文件outlook.nk2裏面，如果這個文件是空的，自動完成是不會提示任何email address的。如果備份了這個文件，就可以把你以前曾經輸入過的郵件地址，在輸入的時候自動提示出來。

Someone had formatted and reloaded WIN XP on a Notebook and backed up everything EXCEPT MS Outlook!! Yikes…. I have used ONTRAKS Easy Recovery Professional and cannot find any usable .pst, However, I did find this file called OUTLOOK.NK2 whick looks to have email addresses embedded in it with lots of ASCII characters… Is it possible this this file may be the Contacts and how might I recover the addresses in the file.. I have done searches with ONTRACT for the keywords

But the NK2 fil is the only one that I can see that may be close
