Literature Review也就是文獻綜述，可以是單獨的一篇學術論文，也可以是留學生論文中的一部分。本文主要將留學生畢業論文中Literature Review的寫作。Literature Review是完成選題以後，在對選題所涉及的研究領域的文獻進行廣泛閱讀和理解的基礎上，對該研究領域的研究現狀(包括主要學術觀點、前人研究成果和研究水平、爭論焦點、存在問題及可能的原因等)、新水平、新動態、新技術和新發現、發展前景等內容進行綜合分析、歸納整理和評論，並提出自己的見解和研究思路。
因此，文獻綜述應該向讀者（導師）傳達出你所選擇的研究課題（topic）已經建立的知識和想法，同時通過文獻綜述中對reference的討論研究課題的主要學術來源。
e.g.Many earlier studies of purchasing behavior identified two orientations of hedonic shopping and utilitarian shopping which means shopping for fun,experience or shopping rationally and process-oriented approach to shopping(Hirschman and Holbrook,1982:92;Babin et al.1994:644).Recent studies add more variations to analyze purchasing behavior.Gonalves and Sampaio(2012:1525)took gender,income,age and involvement as moderating variables for the investigation of credit card loyalty.
