該過程包括下列各步驟：

· 備份 Java 密鑰庫證書文件和 server.xml 文件，並從 \Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\directory 移動或複製這些文件。
· 備份嵌入式數據庫，並從 \Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\ directory 移動或複製該備份。
· 安裝 Microsoft SQL Server 2000 或 2005 的實例。
· 通過使用“更改卸載”選項，卸載 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 和嵌入式數據庫。

警告：您必須使用“更改卸載”選項卸載 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager，否則您的升級就會失敗。此選項可讓您卸載嵌入式數據庫。不能使用“刪除”選項卸載嵌入式數據庫。

· 使用 Microsoft SQL Server 數據庫重新安裝 Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager
