Vitual center architecture (VC architecture)
according to the vmware website,virtual center
is composed of five main components
1. virtualcenter management server
the central control node for configuring,
provisioning and manageing virtualized IT
environments the management server runs as a
serivce on MS windows 2000. xp professional
and win2003
2. virtualcentre database is used to store
persistent information about the physical
servers.resourece pools and virtual machines
managed by virtualcenter management server.
the database resides on standard versions of
oracle, MS SQL server, or MSDE
3.virtual insfrastructure client allows
adminstrator and users to connect remotely to
the vitualcenter management server or individual
ESX servers from any windows PC
4.Virtualcenter agent connects vmware esx
server with the virtualcenter management server
5. virtual infrastructure web access allows
virtual machine management and access to
virtual machine graphical consoles without
installing a client.
