Customize the face of your Apple Watch

Choose a design, adjust the colors, then add complications to your watch face. You can even set the time ahead. 

     

Choose a different face

Press the Digital Crown to go to your current watch face, firmly press the display, then swipe left or right to see more options.

To choose the watch face that you want, tap it.

Customize your watch face

Press the Digital Crown to go to the watch face, then firmly press the display. Swipe left or right to go to the face that you want to change, then tap Customize. 

Swipe left or right to select a feature, then turn the Digital Crown to change it. For example, you might change the color of the second hand or the markings on the face. 

To edit complications, swipe all the way to the left. Tap a complication to select it, then turn the Digital Crown to change it. You can also add complications from other apps. 

When you’re finished, press the Digital Crown to save your changes, then tap the watch face.

Add more information to your watch face

You can add complications, or information from apps, to some watch faces. Here are a few that come with your watch: 

• Activity 
• Alarm
• Battery 
• Calendar
• Date
• Moon Phase

• Stocks
• Stopwatch
• Sunrise and Sunset
• Timer
• Weather
• World Clock
   

You can also add complications from some third-party apps. To see which apps have complications, open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to the My Watch tab, and tap Complications. Then choose the ones that you want: 

• To add a complication, tap . After you add the complication in the Watch app on your iPhone, you can add it to your watch. Go back to your watch face, firmly press the display, and tap Customize. Then tap a complication and turn the Digital Crown to choose the information that you want to appear.
• To remove a complication, tap . Then tap Remove.
• To rearrange the order, touch and hold . Then drag and drop the complication.  

     

Add a new watch face

You can make multiple versions of any watch face. To create one: 

1. Press the Digital Crown to go to the watch face. 
2. Firmly press the display, swipe all the way to the right, then tap .
3. To choose a face, turn the Digital Crown, then tap the one that you want. This sets your current watch face to the one that you just created. 
4. To customize the face, firmly press the display again and tap Customize. 

While you can get new complications from third-party apps, you can’t install new watch faces.

     

Delete a watch face

1. Go to your current watch face, then firmly press the display.
2. Swipe left or right to the face that you want to remove. 
3. Swipe up and tap Delete.

If you want to, you can create the watch face again later.

     

Change the time shown on your watch

1. Open the Settings app and tap Time.
2. Tap +0 min.  
3. Turn the Digital Crown and choose how far ahead to set your watch. 
4. Tap Set or Cancel.

You can only set the time shown on the watch face ahead. Your alarms, notifications, World Clock, and any other times will still match the actual time.
