Remote Issue:
I made an Xhorse Flip Key for a 2018 Ford Focus today using VVDI Key Tool Plus. I generated the transponder and programmed it with no problem. However, the remote was unsuccessful. How do I program the remote for this?
Solution:
On-board remote program.
Here is the whole procedure (the same system as Ford Focus 2018):
Step 1. The door closed and the seat belt on.
Step 2. By the original key turn on/off the ignition 4 times, and end with the ignition off.
Step 3. A tone or a red LED will happen.
Step 4. Press the LOCK button on each remote for 2 seconds.
Tips:
To program remote separately, try OEM keys if the aftermarket fails.
The seat belt has to be on and fastened.
If 4 ignition on/off cycles don’t work, try the same way with 8 cycles of on/off switch.

Yep. I have run into a few later models like this. Onboard for focus. The seat belt has to be on.
