- 開場
店員： How are you doing today?（你好嗎？）
我們學的版本是回答"I’m fine, and you?"，但美國人一般很少會這麼說。
DaLiang：I’m doing great / Good, how are you?（我很好，你呢？）
- 購物
店員：How may I help you today/Are you looking for anything specific?（有什麼可以幫忙的嗎？/ 需要幫忙嗎？）
進商店時候店員都會問你需不需要幫忙，如果沒有特別想要找的商品，可以告訴店員自己只是先看看。
DaLiang：I’m just browsing, thank you.（我先看看，謝謝）
- 通常，有店員會在店內巡視，來爲客戶服務
店員：Did you find everything okay today?（一切都還好嗎？）
通常會被問到有沒有找到想找的東西，一切是不是都好，一般回答個"Yes"就好了。
DaLiang： Yes, everything is good. Thank you.

如果買的是衣服，想找到試衣間，通常這樣說
DaLiang: Excuse me, could you tell me where is dressing room (or fitting room)
店員： It’s over there. Follow me. -
退還商品
在美國，退還商品通常是很容易的，只要是有足夠的理由，比如大小不合適，用了幾天發現功能不滿意。
DaLiang: "I would like to return this“（我想要退掉這件商品）
店員:“Is there something wrong with the item?”（這件商品有什麼讓你不滿意的地方嗎？）
DaLiang：The size is wrong/I didn’t really like it.

結賬
DaLiang: Hi, How are you.
店員：Good, Thank you. How’s everything going?
DaLiang: Good. And I want to buy these.
店員：Ok.（開始打包）， 10 dollars.
DaLiang: 付錢. -
準備離開
一般離開商店的時候店員都會這樣說，在這種情形如果不回答就稍顯不禮貌，最好回敬一句喔~
DaLiang: Have a nice day（祝你有愉快的一天）
店員：Thanks, you too（謝謝，你也是）

試衣間
在商場（department store）或零售店（retail store）購買服裝時，我們需要對看中的衣服進行試穿（try it on），以確定是否合身。大多數服裝店都會配備一個簡單的試衣間，以便顧客在保證隱私的情況下更換衣服，並觀察衣物穿上後的效果。
在美國，試衣間的英語是：changing room，或者也可以說：fitting room。嚴格來說，changing room的範疇比fitting room的範圍要廣，比如：locker room（運動員的換衣間）也可以被稱爲changing room。所以changing room也可以考慮翻譯爲“更衣間/換衣間”。
我們看一下changing room/fitting room的英文解釋：are usually small single-user cubicles where a person may try on clothes. These are often found at retail stores where one would want to try on clothes before purchasing them.（通常是個小隔間，可以容納1人在內換衣。常位於零售店內，以便人們在購買衣服前進行試穿。）需要注意的是，dressing room，通常不用來指“試衣間”，常指位於劇場或舞臺後臺（backstage）供演員使用的”換衣間”。
付款：
在美國，付款通常使用銀行卡（credit card 或debit card），很少用現金，當然，使用現金也是可以的。
