As when it came to problems psychosis and serious mental illness like schizophrenia, Jung favored a more biological explanation, Freud favored more psychological explanation.

And Jung had much more experience with a severe mental illness, psychoses. Then Freud was a neurologist worked with mostly neurotic patients, many of them young women. Jung work in a psychiatric clinic with heavy, heavy mental illness where people were hospitalized for years, sometimes, most of their lives and his impression was that kind of mental illness had biological causes as well, perhaps some psychological causes.
