Configure Excel Services in SharePoint Server 2013

Prepare:

Beforeyou begin, you must be a member of the Farm Administrators group to perform theprocedures in this article

Toregister a managed account (if the managedaccount was existing, skip this step)

a.      Onthe SharePoint Central Administration website home page, in the leftnavigation, click Security.

b.      On the Security page, under GeneralSecurity, click Configure managed accounts.

c.       On the Managed Accounts page, click RegisterManaged Account.

d.      Type the user name and password of thedomain account that you are registering.

e.       Click OK.

Grant content databaseaccess to the managed account

f.       On a SharePoint Server (APP server), click Start,click All Programs, click Microsoft SharePoint 2013Products, right-click SharePoint 2013 Management Shell,and then click Run as Administrator.

g.      At the Windows PowerShell Command Prompt,type the following (press Enter after each line):

$w = Get-SPWebApplication -identity <a target=_blank href="http://SiteURL">http://SiteURL</a>
$w.GrantAccessToProcessIdentity("<Domain>\<Username>")

 

Start the Excel Calculation Services service

h.      On the Central Administration home page,in the System Settings section, click Manage serviceson server.

i.       Toselect the server where you want to start the service, above the Servicelist, click the Server drop-down list, and then click ChangeServer and choose the appropriate server (Make sure the Server is APP Server).

j.       Inthe Service list, click Start next to ExcelCalculation Services.

Create an Excel Services service application

k.      On the Central Administration home page,under Application Management, click Manage serviceapplications.

l.       Onthe Manage Service Applications page, click New, and thenclick Excel Services Application.

m.   In the section,  Name="Excel Services Application", and select “Useexisting application pool” that “DefaultStorePortal Service App Pool”  we created above,  and Select the Configurable option, and fromthe drop-down list, select the account that you created to run the applicationpool, then click “Ok”;
