週六的繪本時間又到了，上週小鹿帶崽子去動物園的時候答應他給他講動物園的故事，於是就找到了這本繪本。《Good Night, Gorilla》曾獲美國圖書館協會年度好書、美國兒童圖書中心期刊“藍絲帶”獎等衆多獎項，也是吳敏蘭書單中5到6歲推薦閱讀的原版繪本之一。

It's late at night.
天黑了。
The zookeeper inspected the zoo and said goodnight to the animals before he went back home.
動物管理員在回家前巡視了動物園，跟動物們說晚安。
But what happened？
可是出了什麼事了？
What was the gorilla doing？
大猩猩在幹什麼？
It stole the zookeeper's keys.
他偷了動物管理員的鑰匙。
And the little mouse helped to untangle the balloon tied to the gate.
旁邊那隻小老鼠也幫他解開了綁在籠子大門上的氣球。

The zookeeper went to the elephant's, and said goodnight to the elephant.
動物管理員接下來去了大象那裏，跟大象說晚安。
But he didn't know that the gorilla was creeping behind him.
但他不知道，大猩猩正偷偷跟在他身後。
Would the gorilla open the gate and let the elephant out？
大猩猩會打開大象籠子，放大象出來嗎？

Look, the elephant went out, too.
看，那隻大象也出來了。
So was the little mouse.
那隻小老鼠也跟出來了。
It brought a banana with it.

The gorilla picked out the key and inserted into the lock.
大猩猩找出鑰匙，插進鎖孔。
Hush, lion, let's go out to play.
噓，獅子。我們出來玩吧。
Good night, Hyena.
晚安，鬣狗。
Good night, Giraffe.
晚安，長頸鹿。
After the zookeeper checked hyena and giraffe, they set both of them free, too.
動物管理員檢查過鬣狗和長頸鹿後，他們也被放了出來。
Didn't the zookeeper realize that there were so many animals walking behind him？
那個動物管理員沒有意識到身後跟着這麼多動物嗎？
Maybe it was too dark outside.
可能是因爲外面太黑了。
He didn't see them.
他沒有看到他們。
Good night, Armadillo.
晚安，穿山甲。
There were six animals in the animal night parade now.
現在小動物夜間遊行中有六個小動物了。
And they were sure to enroll their seventh member.
他們肯定還要去招募他們的第七個成員。
Different from other animals, armadillo didn't live in a cage.
與其他動物不同，穿山甲不住在籠子裏。
It was kept in a stockade.
他被養在圍欄裏。
I think it was too small to escape from the stockade.
我想他太小了，是逃不出圍欄的。
But the gorilla got the key.
但是大猩猩拿到了鑰匙哦。
So all the seven animals sneaked out of the zoo.
因此，七隻小動物都溜出動物園啦。

It seems that they followed the zookeeper to his home.
看起來他們跟着動物管理員回家了。
The zookeeper even didn't find that？
動物管理員還是沒有注意到嗎？

The mouse climbed to the top of a nightstand.
老鼠爬到了牀頭櫃頂上。
And the gorilla sat on the bed, yawning.
大猩猩坐在牀上打呵欠。
The zookeeper sat on the other side of the bed and took off his shoes.
動物管理員坐在牀的另一邊，正脫鞋子。
His wife was sleeping on the bed.
他的妻子正在牀上睡覺。
Time to sleep now, guys.
夥伴們，睡覺的時候到了。
Good night, dear.
晚安，親愛的。
Said the wife of the zookeeper.
動物管理員的妻子說。
She was going to turn off the light.
她準備關燈啦。
But she was too sleepy that she didn't open her eyes.
但她太困了，沒有睜開眼睛。

晚安。晚安。晚安。……
What？
發生什麼事了？
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.
一、二、三、四、五、六、七。
She heard seven voices answering, goodnight.
她聽到七個聲音在迴應她，晚安。
And those were definitely not her husband's voice.
而且這些肯定不是她丈夫的聲音。
So she turn on the light to see what was happening.
因此她打開燈看看發生什麼事了。
Her eyes were wide open with astonishment.
她因驚嚇而瞪大了雙眼。
I think she was not sleepy at all now.
我想她現在肯定不困了。
She saw all the animals resting in her bedroom.
她看到了所有在她臥室裏睡覺的小動物們。

爲配合繪本設定在深夜這一故事背景和小動物們悄悄“越獄”的大致內容，小鹿在給如意講這本繪本時總喜歡用說悄悄話的語氣加上誇張的表情來講這個故事，崽子也往往會“一秒入戲”，跟着我神神叨叨地開始繪本之旅。家長們不妨也試着把繪本演出來，增加親子互動，增進孩子對繪本的興趣吧。
