反思

When there is pain, the animal instinct is flight-or-fight. Calm yourself down and reflect instead. If you can think clearly about what's behind it, you will learn more about what reality is like and how to better deal with it.

我最近才意識到自己從來沒有思考過痛苦,更多的是不願意面對痛苦、逃避痛苦。所謂的時間可以沖淡一切痛苦,也是遺忘了痛苦,並不是自己有了可以處理痛苦的能力。

爲什麼要理解痛苦?爲了看到真相,瞭解事實。

The pain you are feeling is due to things being in conflict-may be you've come up against a terrible reality, such as the death of a friend, and are unable to accept it; maybe you've been forced to acknowledge(承認、答謝) a weakness that challenges the idea you'd had of yourself.

痛苦來自哪裏呢?來自你不願意接受的現實。你自己與現實的衝突。最簡單的,你買了一個股票,你認爲這個股票會升值,結果它跌了。你會痛苦,爲什麼呢?怎麼跟我想的不一樣呢。可是事實就是這樣的,你要做的是反思自己,自己爲什麼做出這樣的判斷,而不是思考事實怎麼可以跟我不一樣的?所以,self-reflectiveness,我覺得這個詞比中文“反思”兩個字更加可以表達它的本來意思,更有指導意義,因爲它指出了思考的方向,思考自己。

If you can think clearly about what's behind it, you will learn more about reality is like and how to better deal with it. 

爲什麼反思痛苦可以讓自己看到現實?因爲痛苦是自己的認知與現實產生矛盾的地方,你可以透過這個矛盾看清楚現實是怎麼回事。

Self-reflectiveness is the quality that most differentiates those who evolve quickly from those who don't.

反思,應該變成自己的日常活動,像吃飯一樣。
