0 背景

在平時的電信協議和業務的研究過程中，標準看的非常多。在查閱3GPP相關標準時會對其浩瀚的文檔結構及編號產生恐懼感。本章將爲您講述如何去查找3GPP文檔 以及如何讀懂其特有的文檔編號。

1 3GPP組織介紹

3GPP的全稱是3rd Generation Partnership Project，中文翻譯爲第三代合作伙伴計劃。它是領先的3G技術規範機構，是由歐洲的ETSI，日本的ARIB和TTC，韓國的TTA以及美國的T1 在1998年底發起成立的，旨在研究制定並推廣基於演進的GSM核心網絡的3G標準，即WCDMA，TD-SCDMA，EDGE等。中國無線通信標準組 (CWTS)於1999年加入3GPP。3GPP的目標是實現由2G網絡到3G網絡的平滑過渡，保證未來技術的後向兼容性，支持輕鬆建網及系統間的漫遊和 兼容性。

3GPP最初的工作範圍是爲第三代移動系統制定全球適用技術規範和技術報告。第三代移動系統基於的是發展的GSM核心網絡和他們所支持的無線接入技 術。隨後3GPP的工作範圍得到了改進，包括爲移動通信（GSM）技術規範和技術報告包括髮展的無線接入技術（包括GPRS和EDGE）維護和制定全球系 統。

3GPP由項目協調組（PCG）和技術規範組（TSGs）組成，如需要，各技術規範組可建立工作組。如下圖示爲3GPP的組織結構圖:

2 規範導讀及文檔命名規則

從編號說起 ,3GPP大部分協議是 AA.BBB-CCC類型的編號 .其中 A,B,C都代表單個數字 .
協議命名的規則爲 AA.BBB-CCC,其中 CCC說明協議的版本 .例如 820大致說的就是協議的 R8版本 .640含義爲協議的 R6版本 .後面的數字爲小版本 ,不用太關注 .AA.BBB,說明的是協議號,自我感覺,沒什麼規律.21.XXX-35.XXX用的較多,其他的沒感覺.
現在協議已經從 Rel1到 Rel9.但協議中 ,網絡的基本架構從 R5以來沒怎麼變過 .在 R3中劃分了 MSC,HLR等網元在 R5中進一步把 MSC劃分爲軟交換和 MGW兩個部分 ,控制和承載分離 .在 R6中引入了 IMS內容 (記不清了 ,大家考證一下 ).現在最新的版本中加入了 LTE的標準 .

其中有些是 GSM 協議 , 有些是 UMTS 的協議 .

當然 , 有些協議及屬於 GSM 也屬於 UMTS.

我們在查閱3GPP文檔 時，在文檔的最上方都會見到類似於3GPP TS 23.140 V6.15.0 (2008-03)這樣的字符串，他們有什麼特別的意思嗎？

我們首先要理解，3GPP的文檔分爲TR和TS兩種，分別對應Technical Reports（技術報告）和Technical Specification（技術規範）。

其次，3GPP的文檔針對不同的領域分爲了不同的系列(series)，下表對這些系列對應的領域進行了劃分：

Note (1): The 13 series GSM specifications relate to European-Union-specific regulatory standards. On the closure of ETSI TC SMG, responsibility for these specifications was transferred to ETSI TC MSG , (Mobile Specification Group) and they do not appear on the 3GPP file server. 可以看到，我們舉例的23.140其實對應23系列，也就是針對3G/GSM R99以後的Technical realization ("stage 2")。從上表也可以看出，文檔中有Stage 1,2,3之分。Stage 1規範了從服務使用者的角度闡述的一個服務；Stage 2規範描述了對需要解決的問題的邏輯分析；Stage 3就是技術實現。

在大的版本後面又有小編號，就是示例中的140，我們進入到http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/23-series.htm 看到文中有一個大表格，纖細的列出了不同的小編號對應的功能描述。140對應的就是"Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS); Functional description; Stage 2”。

後面的V6.15.0表示修改的版本號。
